  • This year's Miku Expo penlight is disappointingly less bright than Magical Mirai penlight from last year

All the penlights I have (oldest 2017) are from the same manufacturer and they even look exactly the same. The difference in brightness is a bit weird though, it indicates some components inside are different, it could just be a new supplier for one part or something though. Disappointing still as I'm taking the 2020 Expo penlight and the Mirai penlight with me to the concert. It'd been nice to have them equally bright.

Truthfully I don't like the idea of selling penlights around the year. I prefer them being event specific, makes them a little special and good souvenirs.

It's probably the construction, I guess, but are the batteries replaceable? If you haven't tried it yet, there might be the hope that you could make it brighter by replacing those--if the ones they put in, which SHOULD be new, were old or discharged abnormally in storage due to temperature or something.

I put brand new batteries in both, so it's not that. The reason must lie in the actual construction of the penlight
My Miku Expo penlight and wristband arrived. For some reason the post decided the letterpack is too big to be delivered by the postman (in reality it was within the limits of letter size) so I had to pick it up from the post office myself.
Seems I was able to glue my Magical Mirai pendant together, hopefully it'll hold over time.
S*** my Magical Mirai pendant broke. I've seen some people on twitter whose pendants have broken the same way, and now it happened to me too :(
As great as Comiket is, I'm getting a bit fed up with the fact that my Twitter feed has been 90% Comiket stuff for past few days. One more day and then it will start going back to normal.
Looking at what's going on now, I'm happy that people are finally starting to acknowledge the problems within the western community.

@hamano Yeah, even the person behind the ebooks account who created the Miku/Minecraft meme hit out about this on twitter.

Oh, it was about Rowling making a transphobic comment. I have no time for transphobes myself (not trans, but I support LGBT+), but I do see how and why some fans might worry about how it affects other peoples' perceptions of Miku if she's just being used as meme bait.

I saw someone on Utaforum say that apparently Miku is only trending in the UK because of all this with JK Rowling.
Ordered the Miku Expo goods I decided to buy. In the end I didn't like most of the artwork enough to warrant buying merch of them (and in the case of one artist I'm just not comfortable with buying due to some things). I'll just settle with the penlight and a wristband (I always buy a penlight of events I go to). At least I have more money in store for Magical Mirai.
Finnish post is still a mess after the strike. Out of the 4 packages that left from Japan on the same day, one has arrived, one has been sorted last week but no tracking update since, and two have no updates after leaving Japan. I'm really hoping they all arrive before Christmas
Finally after two and a half weeks the postal strike is over! 4 packages from Japan are waiting to be sent here and I've waited to order my business cards (printing house only ships via post, not DHL)
