Mitchie M's older songs like 'Freely Tomorrow' were not as cutesy compared to the songs he does now. I mean, they were clearly J-pop, but not the "kawaii" kind of J-pop that the genre as a whole is stereotyped as sounding like, which Mitchie M leans towards more now. I still like his songs, but...
I've always heard about MJ and his family having issues with Sony both while he was still alive and after he died. This case is already serious as it is (since this is pretty much posthumous identity theft), but it wouldn't surprise me if more leaks out about Sony and MJ's estate in the future.
I still don't understand why IA English was released to CeVIO rather than VOCALOID, though I do think the muffled pronunciation can be fixed. The engine noise in CeVIO doesn't help IA English at all though, and I think it causes most of the muffle-ness(?) in the first place.
Me and my boyfriend love the Taiko games, so we're definitely getting the Switch version. I hope it's not as dumbed down as the PS2 localisation though (I swear I'm not a weeaboo complaning about the lack of Japanese music, but the OST was pretty dire for that game).
Ken's probably my favourite out of all the new Yamaha V5s, though I like Amy as well. I'm currently neutral on Chris (I need to hear more usages of him), but I definitely agree with everyone else that Kaori sounds a lot like Len. She might grow on me after some good usages though.
That Lorra...
I adore her Cool voicebank! It's deep and mature, but it's distinct from Luka and it's not extremely boyish like Flower. It's the kind of voice that's been lacking in Japanese female Vocaloids up until now.
Did anyone notice the vocal fry at the start of this demo? Can V5 support it now?
I reckon V5 will be announced as soon as the Vocaloid Shop has finished maintenance, then Yamaha will just dump a VY1V5 starter pack on the same day with no warning, similar to how they treated Cyber Songman.
I'm gonna agree with everyone else and assume V5 is coming sooner than we originally expected. I don't believe that Yamaha would just discontinue the VYs and Cybers with no reason (plus they sell well and are popular), so I think V5 updates are on the way for them. Also, VY1 was a launch bank...
Tone down the shock violence and nudity (srsly, why the naked underage girls) and focus more on the natures of both humanity and the Diclonius, and I reckon Elfen Lied could have become a horror anime classic. Instead, we have a series that's sharply love it or hate it, with only a cult...
In hindsight, V2 Miku sounds really choppy compared to later V2s and V3/4s in general. I can really hear it now in older songs too...
I honestly can't tell the difference between Miku Append Vivid and Light. They both sound the same to me, and I can see why they were download-only in V3 and...
I like IA English, and I understand what you mean. Other Engloids can do things IA can't, either because of what type of voice they are or the differences between the Vocaloid and CeVIO (or even UTAU, etc.) engines. The "killer app" Engloid thing is getting old and fans get disappointed whenever...
I've thought about watching Ouran sometimes, but the fandom annoys me because everyone seems to miss the point that it was supposed to be a shoujo parody, and the fans treat it like it's an ordinary shoujo played straight.
I've been meaning to watch Angel Beats for ages since it's a Key...
We have threads on here about anime and manga we like, but what about the ones we hate?
To give some quick personal examples - I've never liked Axis Powers Hetalia, mainly because I didn't find it funny as a parodic depiction of history. Plus, the fandom used to be obnoxious and awful back in...
