The UI doesn't look good, but I think it's just the color choice. If that can be edited, I think it will be fine. I certainly like it better than Utau's at least. And yay more synths for custom banks.
I don't think it's from a specific song, I think they just decided to have LAM design a figure of her because they're an extremely successful artist right now and they've done art for a lot of Vocaloid songs.
I can't remember if I've heard this VAs English before, but these samples are really cute when they're not being weirdly specific and random, which is when they're hilarious. The're also pretty easy to understand and she seems to pronounce her phonemes correctly 99.999% of the time, which kind...
I agree with your idea of Miku being more of a marketed character than JUST a vocal synth, but I think her vocal synth and the creativity it inspires/assists is still very central to her popularity and marketability. Kind of like how Nintendo sells a lot of different merch of their popular...
I would also love to see a thread dedicated to REV. Now that he's starting to get voicebanks of his own, he's more than just a tangentially-Vocal-synth-related character and definitely deserves his own news/discussion thread.
I guess there's also the possibility that the reason she sounds less artificial (to me) in these newer demos may also have to do with how she's being tuned. Atari Mae No Program (the song I've been listening to the most of all her demos) in particular has some really great usage of breaths to...
I don't think it's just a matter of us getting used to the sound of her voice. Maybe I'm misremembering things, but I feel like the way she sounds in these new demos is a lot less artificial than she did when it was first announced that they were going to be modifying her voice to sound less...
I love all three of the girls' designs. It's like someone looked directly into my brain to figure out exactly what my favorite anime schoolgirl tropes are and channeled them into the three of them, but without them coming off as forced or tacky.
As a fan of both Miku and the first couple seasons of MLP:FIM, I'm really glad that this actually looks like a really good statue/design. I might have to pick it up.
incorrect
I'm a bit confused by the fact that they aren't selling packs that have both her singing banks AND talk banks based on language, like a Japanese-Standard/AI/Talk-pack and an English-Standard/AI/Talk-pack. I feel like bundles of that type would sell pretty well.
Not only that, but since she was released as a character using VY1's voice, like, a year maybe before she got her own V3 bank, it gave her a bit of an identity crisis back then that I think kind of hindered her ability to really catch on. But I think now that it's been a long time since then...
Ooh, that's interesting. If this comes to fruition, it will be the first time REV has had a voicebank, right? or did he have an Utau or something I don't know about?
That looks about the same as what I could hear. Honestly, I think given the song was very likely tuned by a Japanese person with minimal English skills, she still came out sounding pretty understandable.
For a standard back that was only made to demonstrate (which means it's probably not as polished as a bank that was being produced to be sold) her consonant clusters sound SO NICE compared to most other English vocal synths. If the final AI product is much of an improvement, she might end up...
I was skeptical with the whole issue of her voice provider changing, but damn, I'm really impressed by all this. Both of her English singing banks sound really nice. I especially love her English AI, but English standard sounds like it would be good for when you need her to sound a bit more...
