Tutorial Natsu's Guide on Making Vocaloids Clearer (And Speak in Other Languages)

Notice: This guide is not from an expert. If you want a better guide, ask someone with 5+ years VOCALOID experience.

Hi, I'm Natsu. Have you ever wanted to make a vocaloid sound clear or smooth? Well, I'd understand that. Or you might want to make a JA vocaloid sing in Korean? I can show you in these few short steps.

I think you knew this was coming.XSY can be really helpful. If you are XSYing cryptonloids, make sure you have the SUPER PACK. Then make sure you have the V4x/V3 corresponding to the SP bank you want to use. Go to Singer Editor and make Singer 1 (Primary Singer) your SP bank. Then make Singer 2 (Secondary Singer) your V4x/V3 bank. Crank the XSY up to full, and it should sound like the V4x/V3 but a bit clearer. Don't worry, the nasal sound will go away. Keep in mind you MUST have VOCALOID4 Editor for this. If you have Piapro as well and want to use it, export the singer as something like "LEN_SP/V4X_Power_EVEC". Then use the singer in a VSQx, save it, and put it in Piapro. The singer data file should register. This method does not work with other non-Crypton VOCALOIDs unless you have the eRdK XSY Unlocker, which is not recommended due to being possibly illegal.

If you don't have SP or are using a non-Crypton VOCALOID, you have two options: use different parameters, or use the eRdK XSY Unlocker. The latter is simple-download the zip, extract it, run the exe file, and you're done. However, the former is a bit different. Editing parameters can be confusing. For starters, turn Clearness up to, like, 10. Then turn brightness all the way up, and dynamics a bit higher. I think. This guide's going to get a lot of updates.

For this guide, we're using Spanish. I am currently making Rin speak some Spanish, so I can give some tips. Tip one: for sounds like "soy", the phoneme would look like [s o j] and not [s o] [j M] or [s o] [j]. If you want to do [s o] [j], only do it in the circumstance that you place an [a] phoneme in between the two. Speaking of, adding [a] phonemes after "o" sounds makes it sound good, as long as the [a] is short. For example, "Hola, soy Dora!" would look like [o] [a] [4 a] [s o] [a] [j] [d o] [a] [4 a]. For rolled "r" sounds, make a small note with [4 4 4 4 4 4], [4 M 4 M 4 M 4 M], [4' 4 4' 4 4' 4], or [4' M 4 M 4 4 M 4 M 4' M]. At least I think.

Thanks for reading my semi-decent guide on how to clear up VOCALOIDS and make them speak in different languages from their OG language.
