Oh, thanks for that info! I had heard it so many times that I was certain Gumi really did have very little data. Is Gumi radio an official thing? Sorry, I hadn't heard of it
Several people have pointed out, and are probably correct, that it's more the company pushing a young woman (a minor at the time of the CeVIO poll fiasco) into doing something that she wasn't totally comfortable with. I do think it's frustrating that it's happening again, but my blame will lie...
Maybe it's uncharitable of me, and I apologize if so, but I don't really understand why people agree to voice a synth if they are nervous about the synth sounding like them -- unless it's a particularly voice acted bank from the start, I guess. Especially since we've seen by now that even famous...
Ohh that's really nice! I think it's a nice gentle voice that will hopefully do well in a variety of genres
To further extrapolate on Arctos's design, since I posted it at work, I really like the style. I think it's mage-like in that the coat kind of billows out like a wizard robe and the...
One last thing before I stop yapping:
I initially misinterpreted the last thread I posted wrong, and I wanted to make sure no one here made the same mistake. The thread maker actually ended up correcting me and clarifying their point later. They're not saying the RVC wasn't used -- rather, they...
More than using Yuma as the base tuning, which I agree is fine for personal projects but is bad for a demo (and apparently against TOS for official uses), I can't believe they had the gall to use his RVC instead of the actual V6 bank they're marketing! It really is I=Fantasy again, except at...
Right?? I don't even care about the thing, whatever, but the other stuff I've heard, plus general attitude and comments to and about other synths and vsynth users... I already didn't like the guy or care to monetarily support the VB. But this really put the icing on the cake...
Neat! Nice to hear a sample. I think she sounds nice so far
Also... Not to bring drama here, but is anyone aware of the stuff going down with Rowen?? There was a demo posted, that was then revealed to have been Vocalochanger'd from Yuma
Mugen put out a statement acknowledging this and...
I hope so too. Some of the Beta 2.0 samples I've heard were really good and made me really optimistic for Vocaloid, where I've been kind of disappointed in V6. That said, some friends who got the beta let me know that they really only sound improved like that in their ideal range and fall off...
Ohh okay her speaking voice had me like "alright" but that singing! I really like her tone. I'm honestly surprised she's a V6, and I do think I hear some of the long note flatness, but she'd be far from the first Vocaloid with that issue. I think it can usually be worked around.
It'd be very...
I'm definitely surprised they're doing another V6 bank after the Gumi account was being so sassy about Vocaloid AI's quality and they dual released on SV, but it's definitely interesting. They keep us on our toes! I'm even more intrigued to see what engine Koto will be on now
Worth noting that she is sadly a Taobao exclusive right now. I don't really understand why this happens, but maybe she will come over to the DT store later :(
Oh, I actually think she's very cute! Maybe not some super unique stand-out tone, but she's solid and I think she has plenty of great potential uses. I haven't heard much about her on the English side, but I hope she gets some love when she comes out :)
It's probably more likely that they get Al's original (beta) voice provider, than his second (release) one. But that's just a crackpot theory I've been thinking for a while, it's also perfectly likely they get a sound-alike instead
