I recommend to don't use Firefox extensions (since they might work or not work), use the free tool yt-dlp instead:
A feature-rich command-line audio/video downloader - yt-dlp/yt-dlp
github.com
is very easy to use, is a command line tool (there are versions with graphical interface too):
1) download the
ytdlp.exe
2) go to the folder where you saved the exe (usually downloads), type "cmd" in the address bar of File Explorer to run the command prompt
3)type "yt-dlp [paste the URL of the video]" hit Enter
it supports NicoNico and thousands of other video websites, the main page has all instruction you need (for more customization of download, you need to download FFMPEG too)
www.gyan.dev
for example type "yt-dlp -h" to show the main options
or "yt-dlp -F" to show the available formats (you need FFMPEG to download the chosen formats, without FFMPEG it selects the best quality)
but if you really want to use Firefox add-on, then I recommend Video Download Helper:
Download Video DownloadHelper for Firefox. Download videos from the web. Easy, smart, no tracking.
