Question How to create vocal chops(?)

I've been working on a cover of Deco*27's song Android Girl and I'm almost finished except for the bits of "choppy" vocals at the beginning and the end of the song. I don't know how to make the vocals "choppy" like that since they weren't that way in the VSQx (which I can edit, if necessary). I hope my wording here makes sense, haha.

(Also, are they called "vocal chops" when they sound like they've been chopped up like that?)

Here's the song for reference:

If I were to do something like that I would load the relevant word(s) into a sampling synthesizer and then sequence the pitch changes with MIDI. To help with the choppy effect, I would set the cut off for each note to be sudden rather than gradual.
