I'll be honest, independently of the VB I'm using I always try to tunne it multiexpressively (I don't have more Vocaloid Voicebanks, but I worked with utau for a time and DeepVocal, although this one was pretty quick). I'm still learning to do that tho, but I like to tune by the song and not necessarily by what synth or vb I'm using.
Sure, most of VBs has their own particularities that makes them more trickier or less trickier to work with, but I like to think about what I want to express in that moment of the song. So I always thinks like "In this part I want my VB to sound strong? Rage? Happy? Or I want a Dark? Emotional? Sad? Maybe dramatic?
