I think it’s obvious what the benefits of an LED screen are from the production perspective. Less calibration. Less time put into setup before the performance. You’re able to accommodate more venues. But I think ultimately what this is, is a cost-saving measure. All of these things mean less...
Thank you for promoting the work on nicodou. Sometimes fans, justifiably behind the language barrier, make sweeping generalizations about the community that don’t necessarily hold true when you dig a little deeper. The community is still really diverse and there are a lot of sounds.
I think I disagree with this overarching sentiment that Crypton is either a) at a loss due to NT's condition or b) failing as a whole due to the lack of new VB releases.
I think the reality of the situation is that development of products is ongoing, but development is difficult and Crypton...
The OLIVER demo sounded good to me. I agree, I am just baffled as to why all of this was dripped out over time instead of delivered to potential backers as a more cohesive look at what was to come if the project came to fruition. Compared to what has surfaced in the last couple of weeks, the...
I thought the drums sounded best in track B. For some reason, they feel tinnier and less satisfying in track C. I'm guessing track C is ripped off of YouTube for sure. I'm going to guess track B just because it felt the 'fullest' for me, but A and B felt really similar to me.
This is just a VB that caters so specifically to my extremely niche interests that I can't help but love it. From a musical perspective, I think like VBs a la Macne Nana and Gachapin, you could do some interesting experimental and thematic things with it.
I have heard secondhand about people...
It's common for masculine pronouns to be the default/neutral option in languages where masculine and feminine language exists. The Japanese site calls Pepper "Pepper-kun", but women in workplace environments (younger than the speaker) are also frequently called "kun". I think this pronoun is...
The designs this year are so cute. I think crab-chan is still my favorite, but this cool cooking Miku is great too. It makes me wish Sakura Miku was a more established thing just so we could get more Miku design variations every year.
I don't know about this one, chief. It's great that you, personally, as an individual, are confident in the product and feel compelled to come to its defense, but to reduce the entirety of thread's contents-- comprised of the comments of several different users to "whataboutisms", feels like an...
Do we all revile Yamaha for "not marketing to fans"? I see what you're saying, but I don't think it's fair to generalize all criticism as being hypocritical. This group is not a monolith. I think commercial endeavors should all be treated with equal parts respect and scrutiny.
For clarity-- I...
Pepper actually wasn't ever really intended for in-home applications. She was very quickly targeted to the commercial sector after release. However, Aldebaran is developing a robot for the elderly called Romeo. (Or was.)
Since Aldebaran (the original French developers) were acquired by SoftBank, SoftBank has been making slow strides to providing the platform with more features. This may not be a feature, but I think this is super cute! If nothing else, it might make people more comfortable with the idea of...
