I found this video about the habits of procrastinators/habits of original thinkers. I thought it was really good, covering some of the aspects of how creative people think and why you shouldn't feel bad if you take a long time to finish a creative project.
TLDR: Jumping in and finishing stuff quickly is sometimes the result of panic that stifles creativity. Waiting too long also leaves you with too little time to innovate. But waiting just the right amount of time is a good thing.
Also, if an idea's no good, focus on fixing the idea. Don't think that the quality of the idea defines you personally.
