I know you said you're doing this project by making use of EU laws but I just wanted to post YAMAHA's response to my email on the matter of individual use of the API.

From their response it kind of looks like they talk about an official support of the vocaloid api as they talk about maintenance services, which implies that they talk about a partnership that includes a customer support of the licensee.

I am anyway not planning to myself make the frontend myself as it would require too much work and I'm in october starting programming school etc, but at least from the european laws as the software is included, european people at least would be free to make a frontend due to the classification as a sale contract, that's why I wanted to at least talk about the possibility of it

The are saying that it is required to have an license agreement with YAMAHA in order to make use of the API. Support just comes along with it, but to make use of the API legally, you must have a license. They no longer do third-party frontend deals because it's too much work for them to maintain, so there's no longer any frontends being developed with the go-ahead from YAMAHA.

As I said before, I know you're doing this through the use of EU laws but I just wanted to let you know what the official stance is from the company.

I am not doing it though like I said, I just talked about the possibility to do it.
also it's "making use of the API in respect to EULA" vs "making use of the API legally" both are different, legally yes, EULA wise though we wouldn't get any support due to it not being approved officially
