Has anyone compiled a list of the songs they played at the Chicago show? I need to know what songs to listen to before they come to DC!
Here is the setlist.
Sorry for the double-post, but I have some... thoughts about the setlist.
For one, this looks really good for the most part! I'm especially excited for Teo, World's End Dancehall, and Magical Cure Love Shot. Caged Flower was an unexpected pick for Kaito, but it's actually a really good song now that I've listened to it. BRING IT ON is a song I've loved for a long time, so I can't wait for that! But not all the songs work well.
My biggest problem lies with TYQOON. It's Meiko's only solo song, and it (imo) is not a good song. It tunes Meiko to be so cutesy that most of the time I have trouble differentiating it from Miku Dark or maybe Rin. I don't usually have a huge problem with overly cutesy tuned Meiko, but it's her ONLY solo song. Having her only solo song be one that only vaguely resembles her usual tone is not a good idea. Also, I had never even heard of it before this concert, so why is it being played? I dunno, I just don't like it at all.
But overall, the setlist is pretty good, I'm just severely disappointed by TYQOON.

TYQOON was also played in Magical Mirai 2024, but I honestly wish MEIKO could get some more love really.
I love this setlist! I missed World's End Dancehall in 2016 so now I'm finally gonna get to see it. My biggest worry is that I won't be able to see even though I'm wearing platform boots.
Interesting, the set list was different in Denver from Chicago. We had differences from both Chicago days. I'm very happy with it overall, but there's one song from Chicago day one I'd really like to have seen.
Going to spoiler my full concert thoughts (and a couple pictures) so I don't have to worry about giving anything away, but damn, this was a major improvement over the last one in many ways.

We got the next best thing to a Magical Mirai, and it's freaking awesome. The screen, the set design, the additional graphics, the set list...it all came together into what I can best describe as Magical Mirai in a box, able to go on the road on a tour across a continent.
The centerpiece is the new screen. No more little rectangle like last time, no small glass like earlier Expos...we have a super wide screen that's about Magical Mirai size. (To my eye, the vividness and lack of light bleed is indicative of MicroLED, and it has a kind of matte anti-reflective coating.) We get to have more characters on screen and moving around more.
The screen also blends far better than last year. The lighting and set dressing hide the edges well, lights cast across the fog add depth, and they did something clever with its positioning that kind of tricks your eye into thinking the character is in front of it, with the edge lighting and side scaffolds that separate where the band members are. There are also several small satellite screen on the sides and above that have different images come in throughout songs.
We've got graphics, backgrounds and virtual props! Some songs have fun image backgrounds, some have words or additional objects that pop in around the characters. They did a great bit with Oedo Julianight where Miku plays a taiko solo, and then there's stylized text that pops in when she whistles.
The set list is great overall, and the whole thing felt like a selection you'd have at Magical Mirai, complete with a "final song" and a several-song encore. I'd have personally swapped Luka's solo song for Luka Luka Night Fever, and I'd have loved to have Kimagure Mercy in Denver (I'm a sucker for Eurobeat)...but overall I'm very happy with what we got.
Room for a Fantasy is interesting. I was a bit lukewarm on it when the contest results came in, but the band arrangement goes HARD. It gains a lot more energy and works really well. (Speaking of, the band did great.)
We got a little bit more Luka in Denver, because Bring it On was substituted for Drop Pop Candy. Which kind of works, because it was fairly Kagamine-heavy. (As long as we get some Giga!)
I've had a suspicion that the set last time was influenced by Coachella, since they were going to perform the same songs there and wanted a more English-heavy selection for that. So they reached a bit deep into their grab bag of Expo contest winners, and omitted other staples. (Though I think it's still neat that a bunch of English language producers got to have their songs played at one of the most prestigious US festivals...)

Got back from the Newark show and here are my honest thoughts, copypasted from my Tumblr:
I have mixed feelings about the LED screen. They had the ""brilliant"" idea of putting lights BEHIND the screen. When those lights are off and the fog is on it looks nearly indistinguishable from the hologram glass.... And when they're on you can tell it's a screen. During Caged Flower they put a flower border on the top of the screen which only made the edges of the screen stand out even more.. Maybe don't do that next time. If they were better able to hide the seams by covering up the top of the screen (or at least don't put lights behind it) like in Pokemiku live I'd be fine with the change since the picture is a lot clearer and the screen is bigger. Only a handful of songs had backgrounds and I'd rather they do that instead of dancing in a black void if they must insist on lighting up the screen. Hopefully they'll improve on the setup even more next time.
Some of the modules also looked kinda wonky model and physics-wise. Mostly only Miku and weirdly Meiko's default modules looked like they were really there. Most of the time all the other 'loids and Miku costumes it looks more like a flat video of the characters dancing in a black void on a TV screen, World's End Dancehall in particular looked very flat. Though again, it might have just been the lighting for those songs.
Weirdly Len was the only one who didn't get a solo song. Kaito deserved one more song as a treat for his 20th anniversary but they went with Caged Flower, one of my favorites so I'll forgive them. I was looking forward to possibly seeing Static or Confessions of a Rotten Girl but alas, I got my hopes up ever thinking a non-contest winner western song would ever be in an official concert. :(
Overall it was definitely still worth going for the music, band, and energy, and again some of the songs were plenty immersive. I actually got really emotional during Love is War, Odds & Ends, and Wanderlast and the energy for Magical Cure Love Shot and Shake It were fire. My Vocaboomer-ass straight up didn't recognize some of the songs, though. Oop.
If you saw someone with a Terriermon hat and Kaito plush that was me! Also thank you to whoever gave me that free pen light!
