[Miku V4 English] ODD&EVEN (rework) [melodic metalcore] by One Minute Winter

WintermintP

Lead Guitar, One Minute Winter
Hi guys!

A little update as to what is going on with the Special Edition of LIVE // DIE // REPEAT.

I have no clue if I'll be able to get to all four songs as I said I would, although there's a collab I'm doing and we're almost done with the song.

To make up for that I decided to add two mix reworks for LIVE // DIE // REPEAT's Special Edition.

Again, special thanks to @Sphinx for helping out with Charsiesis! He helped me out for a different song but his suggestions also worked for this song!

AS YOU DIAL 911 YOU JUST HEAR A CALM VOICE
WHEN THE KILLER MAKES HIS MOVE THEY SIMPLY TURN THE OTHER DIRECTION
THERE IS NO JUSTICE, DEVIL BUT NO GOD
ONLY DEATH IS THE WAY OUT
GET REKT
GET BENT

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JUST CONNECT THE DOTS
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS UNDO ALL THE KNOTS
I UNDO MINE DAILY
ONLY TO EVEN THE ODDS

It's your time to shine
It's your time to light 'em up and
choose your colours
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS

It's your time to mend
all the ties that end their game and
choose your colours
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS

SO MANY CRIMINALS JUST GET AWAY WITH THIS DAILY
AND SO MANY INNOCENTS ARE LEFT IN THE DUST
THERE IS NO JUSTICE, DEVIL BUT NO GOD
AND THE GOVERNMENTS JUST GET AWAY WITH THEIR IRON FISTS

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JUST CONNECT THE DOTS
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS UNDO ALL THE KNOTS
I UNDO MINE DAILY
ONLY TO EVEN THE ODDS

It's your time to shine
It's your time to light 'em up and
choose your colours
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS

It's your time to mend
all the ties that end their game and
choose your colours
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS

(solo: WintermintP)

It's your time to shine
It's your time to light 'em up and
choose your colours
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS

It's your time to mend
all the ties that end their game and
choose your colours
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS

It's your time to shine
It's your time to light 'em up and
choose your colours
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS

It's your time to mend
all the ties that end their game and
choose your colours
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS

It's your time to shine
(Look at the odd and even)
It's your time to light 'em up and
(Numbers you don't believe in)
choose your colours
(All of our freedoms fading)
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS
(All of our liberty's fading)

It's your time to mend
(Look at the odd and even)
all the ties that end their game and
(Numbers you don't believe in)
choose your colours
(All of our freedoms fading)
CHOOSE YOUR COLOURS
(All of our liberty's fading)

I was never a big fan of hard metal screaming, so sadly this doesn't change my mind. :matcha_lili: (But glad that you got help for the charsiesis in the end, Winter!) (Also I do like some songs with hard screaming it's mostly like this but less of the screaming cause I like the normal vocals and music to combat that (^_^;))

I do like the rest of the music and more of your other recent one that you posted too. :lumi_lili:

It's not perfect and mixing could really use work with how it lacked in power in a lot of areas, plus the distortion on the screaming is a bit overdone... but it does have a lot of potential I guess too. I think the ending could use an extra bar, and the phrase "get rekt" is a bit cheesy and hard to take seriously in my opinion, but the vocals at least do come out clearly enough and the lyrics other than that are fine. Although the riff is nice and heavy, it could still use a little more variation when repeating, maybe even doubling of the notes at times. I love the chorus (which is rare for me in metal tracks since I usually hate when they take a break from being heavy and suddenly get all soft in a way that's borderline cringy to me), but I also love that Arabic scale so there might be some bias in that, lol. I wouldn't even call it metal-core, its riffs and tone make it more like something almost worthy of being along the lines of prog thrash metal with screams (whereas metalcore is usually more "djent"-like with short and simple low phrases). I admit that it's pretty decent and I'd actually even consider taking up a commission for mixing on something like this.
I'm honestly surprised this really didn't sound bad.
