Just a thought, but would it be possible to tweak the post editor so that the button for saving a draft shows up in mobile view? (The button in question is the one that looks like an old floppy disk. It's on the right side of the post editing toolbar, to the left of the gear-looking button for Toggle BB Code.)
I would think that people on mobile devices are even more likely to have to stop working on posts than people on desktop, so being able to save at any point could be beneficial for them. Right now, the button always shows on desktop, but hides when the screen gets too narrow.
