Voicebanks you're surprised haven't been announced for the Vocaloid engine at this point.

For me, I'm surprised Zundamon still hasn't gotten a Vocaloid voicebank. When I saw they funded Adachi Rei getting one, I thought that naturally, at some point, Zundamon would be added to Vocaloid since she's on EVERYTHING you can think of except the big ones (Synth V and Vocaloid.)

Other ones I'm surprised haven't been brought back to Vocaloid/gotten updates.

With all the advertising Gumi has with Gakupo, you'd think they'd bring him back at some point. Though, it feels unlikely.

Fukase was pretty popular and even bundled with V5 for quite awhile. The fact he hasn't gotten a V6 baffles me. And, I guess same with Flower, but she's on CEVIO...

Rana. I always wish they'd bring her back.

Piko... rest in peace, Piko.

Surprisingly, Meika and Mikoto Hime were never given a v6 bank, though I doubt they ever would.

Some voicebanks from v3 that we haven't seen since (but had updates on other engines):

Aoki Lapis
Lily (who is/was extremely popular in Japan.)
MAYU

Voiceroid characters that have no voicebank to sing:

Minase Kou (though i don't think he'll ever get one)

That's all I can think of.

I'm surprised that there haven't been any Spanish voices since MAIKA, and she was on V3. I understand that they'd likely have to add Spanish as an XLS option and that would take work, but right now if you want Spanish synths your options are MAIKA (stuck in Vocaloid 3), SynthV (only has two native Spanish singers with one of them being American accented and the other focused on Opera, XLS is available but apparently spotty), or UTAU (questionable quality at best).

I'm a little bewildered as well that Gakupo hasn't been updated, but it might be because of his VP.

The fact that there are barely any V6 appends is quite surprising to me, especially since V6 does have XSY capabilities. The only appends I can think of are Gumi V6 Solid (sold separately) and Miku V6 Soft. There might be some other way to influence tone with V6, but I know next to nothing about it due to its lack of interesting voicebanks.

Speaking of interesting voicebanks, why haven't there been any updates to any of the genre-specific Vocaloids? I know that flower's taken by CeVIO, but what about Sachiko? I feel like she would work much better with the V6 AI engine than she did with concatenative synthesis. And I know that Zero-G's out of the Vocaloid business, but I could see Yamaha purchasing the rights to Prima and Tonio and updating them, especially with the release of GALENAIA for SynthV. Lord knows it would do wonders to their quality. I love them, but goodness they are full of issues.

i've always been a little sad maika never got an update in general, because though voctro got absorbed by voicemod and has shifted focus onto... i think mainly other ai things, they still had close ties to yamaha so i feel like pulling a 'eleanor forte gets adopted by ahs' never seemed totally out of the question, plus i generally feel like they'd be able to hunt down the vp if they wanted to

i know it's more difficult than that, especially because i think yamaha just found it difficult to market spanish vocaloids even though it does have a big fanbase of its own. but thanks to v6 maika could just be marketed as, like, THE multilingual diva as she should be!

V6's XSY is only for V4 banks and below from what i know, not for the V6 banks themselves, it just exposes the XSY supported by the V5 engine which is bundled inside V6, but i don't think xsy was even implemented in the V6 engine.

also append wise, Una has some (Una Sugar and Una Spicy being her two v6 vbs), galaco also has galaco black and galaco white

Everyone's already mentioned all the vocaloids I had in mind, but yeah no some of them are especially suprising like Lily and Maika. I also kinda wanted to maybe mention Dex and Daina, Zunko, Macne Nana, CUL (esp since there's plans for WhiteCUL), and Fukase (although idk if that's impacted by the strict licensing). I was gonna say Gakupo and Yohioloid as well, but with their voice provider's controversies, it would actually be weirder if they were still getting updated lmao

On a somewhat related note, I was kinda shocked Matsudappoiyo hasn't been picked up yet for V6 or something, seeing that Gekiyaku, NurseRobot_TypeT, and other UTAUs got v6 vbs. Ehh idk though I used to see him a lot but now not as much, did he fade into obscurity?

Also I'm personally waiting patiently for VY and Cyber series v6 vbs... hahaha one can dream

I completely forgot about Una and galaco V6! Whoops! And huh, interesting that the V6 banks proper don't have XSY.

And one other thing I just remembered, why don't we have VY1's appends? She had... Power, Soft, and Natural, what happened to them?

V6 is kinda weird because it's a big "One step forward, Two steps back".

The AI synthesis improved aspects such as cross language synthesis, and phoneme transition fluidity, but it made lots of aspects worse, such as the horrible AI tuning, default phoneme positions often not being in time with the song, and a purge of most tuning parameters leaving only basics like pitch bend, dynamics and gender factor (and gender factor wasn't even there at first when V6 released)
