What are some good pitchbending shapes for beginners?

Hello! I'm working on tuning a cover of Disturbia by Rihanna, and I realized that besides the basic slide up/down at the beginning and ends of phrases, I don't actually know any pitchbending shapes. Well, I do, but I don't know when or where to put them, and they end up just making the voice seem more unnatural. What are some good basic pitchbending shapes to use, and when should you use them? Sorry if this is not very understandable, I'm not exactly sure how to word it. Thanks!
