I often get too lazy to draw. so sometime ago i found that just making simple pixel art is fun
(a bit of drawing, but not full on drawing)

I made this Miku (24x32)
which I originally made to be used in character sprite for rpgmaker 2003

(very tiny and blurry pixels, exported in original resolution)

miku miku.PNG

(for the sake of posting here, I took screenshot right from the art program and that made it up-scaled)

I made many more versions of this pixel Miku, lots of them from project diva modules
some of them is a struggle to make because of the pixels limitation,
like right here, I can't even give Miku her blue tie, so it's now a blue pocket on her shirt

I'll post more as I make more

various versions of Miku

I Love pixel art, but somettimes It's TOO small! Like you said the blue tie, sometimes it's just too limiting. So I like larger ones where you can add details like tthe eye highlights eyebrows, and more subtle details for expressions and states (sweaty, exhausted, elated etc.) without the extra stress and time consuming affair of drawing digitally the traditional way and paying attention to line art obessively. So I felt need to operate on larger resolutions like 144x144, 64x64. I find the 48 pixels to be a little too limiting. Do you think it's easier to animate digitally the pixel way or the normal traditional way? seems ironically more narrow margin if error allowed.
Oh, also what do you prefer, Asprite or pixelorama?

For having expressions, I think animating in the traditional way is easier for me, so I don't have to overthink with every pixel. but i guess it might also be easier if you already have your own pixel art style (I don't think I have a proper style yet, beside these tiny pixel Miku )
And I have not tried to do pixel art in larger resolution yet, so I'm not so sure..., maybe animating in the pixel might be easier. (someday!!)

for the pixel art program though- I haven't tried asprite nor pixelorama
Actually, what I've been using is clip studio paint!! (yep, for these)
I know!! it's probably not suitable, but I'm just so used to using clipstudio as my art program.
One day I just found out there's the dot pen tool, which drew out 1 pixel specifically and no more (you can't even change the setting, the dot pen can only draw one pixel at a time) so, not the most optimal way to do pixel art.

Yeah, I can see a CSP setup can do pixel art real well, dedicated programs can make those larger resolution illustrations faster to draw in that specific style where pixel boarders needs special attention, and works for it out of the box.
