I am a newcomer to UTAU, and I have a lot of questions and issues that I don't know how to fix. I use OPENUTAU.
First, How do you get English Voicebanks to work at all? I just downloaded Adrian Medium when looking for a good English VB, but I don't understand how to make it actually sing words consistently. Please help! Adrian is a VCV if that helps. Thanks a lot!

I haven't used openutau in a hot minute so apologies if anything has changed since.

When I used it there was an option to change the phonemizer for the VB. This option should be under the vb name, and should say "DEFAULT". There should be a list of voicebank types/languages (can't remember which). From there there should be a general English render and Teto English as well - likely more as more updates have come.

You can also check the documentation for a list of currently added phonemizers.

Hope this helped!

Edit: Since the only English phonemizer on the documentation is ARPAsing, you may have to just manually edit phonemes. Not ideal, but it can be a last ditch effort.

I'm not an expert at UTAU english but i heard that VCCV utau is more convenient to work with. VCV not only need a good recording but also need a good OTO Configs to work effectively. so i think you might looking for that one.

I know, but I really like this voicebank’s voice and general tone. Also from what I can tell, this is a very well made voicebank, so I don’t think that the OTOing or the recording quality is bad. Especially not the second one, as I believe Adrian has two pitches recorded, F4 and F#3.

How do you do that? Sorry if it’s a basic question, I am still learning the basics of how OpenUtau works.

You should be able to put in phoneme hints as - using the word "read" as an example - [r iy d]. You can't directly edit it since it relies on phonemizers I believe, but it is worth checking out some of the options listed here if you can understand the cs code so you can see how they work and how to possible work around them. For example, in ARPAsing's documentations says it works by
us(ing) CMUdict as dictionary to convert English words to phoneme symbols.

Yeah, about that, I learned that Adrian uses a unique phoneme system, so I will have to learn all of those ones. Thanks for trying to help though!
