Well, after stewing on that little existential crisis, here’s my thought: T2S has fine controls that Google Translate lacks, enabling something akin to customization, making it more of a vocalsynth than GT. That said, in the strictest sense of the term, GT still counts as a text-to-speech program, even though its primary function is translation and demonstration of said translations rather than, say, presentations or screen reading.

So… yes, I guess.
