This is why niow I use more the recording assistant from my phone because I was annoyed to choose between risking to lose the first melody bit I was having suddenly in mind and risking to have the melody ringing over ans over in my mind and making me do huge memory efforts and thus, risking to get distracted from working (the hardest part being trying to find the right moment and the right place to record without being caught OTL)

I keep a notebook on my phone for writing down bits of lyrics I think of when I'm at work or out somewhere. I kind of copy back and forth between that and a physical notebook I use to work through and develop things more.

Music is harder to preserve. I suppose being better with translating it into notation would be useful. There are also apps like Ableton Note. Ideally a very friction-free mobile MIDI editor would be useful...
