I wasn't around when it all happened but I'm pretty informed on Stella but I've only vaguely heard of Rose, can you tell me more about it?

While we're talking about this...do you know if there's reprint of Project Vivi's demo? Because I'm very curious.

I'd like to know more about Rose as well! I'm quite familiar with Stella, but Rose is a new one to me.

Rose was going to be a Kickstarter funded Vocaloid. There's a post with more info about her here: Rose, Potential Eng VOCALOID4 Kickstarter News.

Rose was supposed to be a kickstarted Vocaloid made by PowerFX and some fans. She got off to a rocky start (I remember on VO people found on her websites code that one of her images was hosted on photobucket and that stirred up drama that they werent very professional) but ultimately her project failed because of PowerFx's drama with Ruby. Looking back on it the whole situation was really really sad. These people poured a lot of heart- and money- into getting Rose made, but I think it was just really bad timing. The wounds were still fresh from Stella, and then more salt was rubbed in them when PowerFX dropped the infamous Ruby design.

It's a shame really, because Rose could have been nice. But it seem the people behind Rose were young and inexperienced and as you said she was announced around really bad time. After Stella, I suppose it's never a good idea to announce potential vocaloids.

It's a shame. Rose sounded like she had potential to be good, and I actually quite liked the proposed design for her. I think I'm with @patuk here, that it's probably not a good idea to announce new Vocaloids after what happened with Stella.
