I guess it isnt as necessary to know anymore but *puts on granny voice* when I was just tiny little 7 year old we all had to learn it. Are they like...not really bothering to teach it in schools anymore :marie_ork_lili: But also I know some people just dont know it due to learning disabilities which is alright, no shame on them!

My school district still taught it, but we hardly ever used it for anything, so a lot of our class forgot it (i had to reteach myself)

Well according to my classmates, their teachers didn't even bother with teaching them cursive--most said that they were only taught for like two days and that's it. Meanwhile I was taught for three years: in second, third, and sixth grade. I guess it's different for every school and teacher.

Cursive is pretty much a dinosaur form of writing at this point. That doesn't really bother me since my cursive has always been utter garbage seeing how I was forced to write right handed by various teachers over the years. I used to be left handed but I guess i'm a bit cross dominant. Doesn't really bother me anyways seeing how most things are designed for right handed people anyways.

Wait but I thought that you could learn cursive left handed too

@patuk yeah, that was pretty much the case. teachers kept doing that up until the early nineties. foot/hand dominance on that side can be both an advantage and disadvantage depending on the activity. it gave me an advantage when i played soccer but it gave my dad and coaches some instructional issues when i played baseball even though a southpaw can be an asset to a team. but i really never stuck to sports anyways because i was never really that interested in playing let alone watching sports. only did it because some of my classmates played
