I hope so too! She's on sale for $40 right now on Mercari (I believe, I'd have to check again), but the seller verified that they're not going to deactivate her code, so $40 for another box and a piece of software I can't even use just ain't worth it right now.

I somehow just realized I forgot to take the Martyrs case off the shelf for this shot. Whoops.

I assumed Martys was a video game and I googled it but all I found was this "Marty's escape" which is some madagascar game

but your point still stands regardless, as far as torture and existential horror goes.

Martyrs, not Martys, Patuk.

Martyrs is a movie. It's easily one of my favorites, and the only one I've bothered buying on DVD since moving in with my mom, and it usually stays with my Vocaloids as I don't really have anywhere else to put it (though normally I take it out when taking pictures of my updated collection).

Marty's Escape is truly a masterpiece of our time. I'm glad you led me to it. I could never thank you enough.

Little known fact: I'm an Extreme Cinema buff, so if you have the stomach, I have the recs! If you watch Martyrs, make sure you've got a few hours afterwards to brood. It's heavy.

Yay~ (make sure you look these up before deciding whether to watch them, as many feature really graphic and disturbing content outside of the realm of traditional horror films.)

One of my personal favorites is Enter the Void, directed by Gaspar Noé. Most of his films are actually amazing; Irreversible is his most well-known because of how ridiculously controversial it is, and it was in fact the first movie that horrified me so much I had to take a long, hot shower afterwards, but Enter the Void tops it in my opinion. (Irreversible, if you decide to watch it, opens with the ending of his earlier film I Stand Alone, so that one might be worth watching too.)

Un Chien Andalou is a classic short film that you can find in its entirety on YouTube. It's not much more graphic than what you'd see today, but it's extremely graphic when you consider it was made 90 years ago, and it's very fun and disorienting.

Oldboys (the original Korean film; it had a subpar American remake) is also spectacular. My friend showed it to me in high school for the sole purpose of seeing what I looked like when caught desperately off-guard, and, unbeknownst to her, she kick-started my love of Extreme Cinema.

Dogtooth isn't technically a horror film (and, honestly, most of these aren't), but it's still deeply horrifying (like most of these films are) and I absolutely recommend it.

And, of course, Martyrs, which is hands-down my favorite film the Extreme Cinema movement has produced. It's also the only one I've mentioned that was fully advertised as a horror film, and it certainly lives up to that.

That should get'cha started!

(Oh! I almost forgot: Martyrs also had a subpar American remake in 2015. Make sure you watch the original 2008 French Canadian version.)

And while I'm at it, I'll throw in A Clockwork Orange. It's another classic, and I love the book and movie deeply.
