I think if you live in the US you should be able to order directly from Taobao as long as you can navigate it. Make sure to say you're a foreign customer etc and used a proxy service etc. @Kazumi might be able to help too since they have more experience buying directly from Taobao in the US.

Taobao doesn’t accept foreign cards though, does it? They only accept AliPay (not even the international version) and cards issued by Chinese banks, iirc.

Pretty sure they accept some! According to this you can pay with VISA/MasterCard. There's 3% charge but its not much on $7!

Truth be told, I’m too fond of her to risk losing her Gen1... so! I’m just buying her full-price! Still, crunching the numbers, that’s only another like five bucks, max. I’ll try it out when I get home!
