Yeah, that's the kind of thing Crypton seem to be wasting* too much time on these days. Same thing with stuff like the Pokemon collab. While I love Pokemon and the collab is adorable, it's not exactly what the fans have been asking for over the last few years.
*I'm always down for new Miku...
Is anyone else bothered by Crypton's current trajectory of just hawking Miku out as a mascot character, rather than actively trying to upgrade her VB to modern vocal synth standards? I know she's always been a mascot character available to throw on tons of merch, but NT seems to be dead as a...
In all fairness, his voice is unique by vocal synth standards, not just SynthV! We need more lower toned male vocals. (Asterian was a great step, but diversity is always appreciated.)
It definitely sounds like VoiSona, because I can't hear CeVIO's infamous twang at all. He sounds really promising! Tho it does make me wonder again how he would have sounded like as CV04, either on V2 or V3.
Last year's predictions:
There's been a few more celebrity Japanese voices, but still nothing for English voices. I dunno if the rise of the tech bros in the AI space has put off Western singers from allowing voice samples to be used in vocal synths.
Still nothing, but I remain hopeful for...
I've been kind of expecting this, considering her first demo appeared close to the original release date. But the lack of a new date is really making me wonder what's been going on behind the scenes - I don't think we've had a SynthV release this troubled and lacking transparency before.
Already, I can tell her English crosslang is a lot better in SynthV compared to V6. It's a shame her vocal modes don't seem to do much right now though - I agree that she really needed a proper Power mode to make her really versatile.
Does Kafu SynthV have a soft or whisper vocal mode, or is that how her default is meant to sound?
Aside from that, she does sound very different from her CeVIO - probably the most 'unlike' port to SynthV we've had yet, and I remember seeing a bunch of complaints about Teto SynthV despite her...
To this day, there are still newbies trying to look up 'Vocaloid' or 'Hatsune Miku episode 1' on Google and YT! Speaking as an old lady, I can still remember when it was even harder to find proper info on Vocaloid and it felt like every fan was misinformed in some way, including myself lol.
Mai has a big sister now! And holy moly, Jin really does sound like Ninezero if he had a Japanese accent. (Though I think it's worth reiterating the usual disclaimer that Dreamtonics almost always undersells their first party banks when they drop demos.)
Is anyone else feeling really sus against SynthV Kafu at this point? I'm still expecting an announcement of a release delay, but seriously, we still have no demos while preorders have been open?
There are already two child AI banks on SynthV. Yuki unfortunately has plenty of problematic works associated with her ever since her V2 dropped. The only ethical concern left is whether her VP would allow AHS to use her samples for an AI bank.
It's interesting how AHS has been helping a bunch of companies port VBs to SynthV! But it does make you wonder if they'll ever port their own VBs to SynthV... Miki, Kiyo and Yuki SynthVs when?
It's also interesting to hear the differences between V6 and SynthV Gumi despite using the exact same...
Speak of the devil from the main SynthV thread, she's getting a Vivid bank! Disappointed there's no port of her Vocaloid Power bank, unless her default voice is meant to be naturally powerful.
SynthV Gumi sounds like what might have happened if she had a Vivid append on Vocaloid, and I do mean that in a good way. It might not be quite as powerful as her Vocaloid VBs, but it does sound a lot brighter. Gumi translates really well to the SynthV engine.
It also makes you wonder if...
Overtuning should definitely become a fandom term, because that's what concretely explains the issue. Don't get me wrong, I love some good realistic tuning (even with Miku), but producers need to remember that human voices naturally don't sound like vocal synths when parameters are pushed to...
Got a number of similar, yet related opinions/complaints this time:
1. I'm pretty sure I complained a while ago about producers tuning Miku way too high in recent years, to the point that she sounds like the chipmunk people who hate Miku say she is. A related issue I've just started to notice...
