I feel the era of true fanloids is long gone, now that there's so many official vocal synths to create fan content of. The closest character I can think of that fits that old school vibe is Adachi Rei, since her character design implies that she was originally conceptualised as a Crypton fan...
I had to go look up Ryone Yami because the name rang a bell, and I realised the character originally started out as an UTAU with a completely different design, and I had a song with them on vocals saved a long time ago on my YouTube account. I must now track down other Yami songs and start...
I'm not sure that song was a good choice for a demo, because of how intentionally distorted IA's voice gets on the chorus. The best part to hear her is between 1:42 and 2:19 - there, she sounds like what I expected an IA V6 bank to sound like (similar to her V3, but with V6's engine noise)...
I've thrown my vote towards Megamix - Future Tone's graphics have never done anything for me, and to honest, I've always found them a bit uncanny valley? FT's textures are too shiny and realistic looking for overly anime-style characters like the Cryptonloids. Megamix's cel-shading on the other...
Oof, as much as I love Gumi and like Luka, I do think they've been surpassed by other banks that do their niches far better or with more tonal variety. I'm still surprised Internet Co. never gave Gumi SynthV a Power bank, considering that the most common complaint with her SynthV is the lack of...
The teaser trailer has now dropped!
The V6 bank is called IA: [R], and the current release date is 27th January 2026. Hopefully, some proper demos will be released shortly.
EDIT: I've just updated the thread title with the name of the V6 bank.
Love her design, but her VP's voice is a dime a dozen with other Vocaloids and vocal synths now, so I think Luci would struggle to stand out. (But the sheer willpower of otaku culture has surprised me before, sooo...)
I'm so happy Miku V6 is being embraced by the fandom! I think the last time people really liked a Miku product was V4, which came out nearly ten years ago, and in the meantime, Crypton have struggled with developing Miku NT and falling behind all the progresses in vocal synth technology after...
I was chatting to a friend on Discord this morning about how much we missed forums compared to social media, and it made me feel really nostalgic for both FanFiction.Net and DeviantART's forums. (Yes, those sites had separate forum pages! They were kinda hidden in tabs on the top of their...
You've just reminded me of the pain I used to experience around 2009 or so, when I'd sometimes come across people who'd stan Miku (for example), but literally didn't know any other Vocaloid other than her, and this was way back when the Vocaloid product pool was tinier than today. It got to a...
1st Place have announced that IA V6 has been in the works, and will be properly revealed on 15th December!
I've never been a big fan of IA's quality on CeVIO, and it's long bothered me that the only English version of her available was stuck on CeVIO, even though its quality at the time was a...

Speaking as someone who was never a huge fan of IA's CeVIO voice... My body is ready. (Even though people love to bash V6's quality.)
My issue with modern Vocaloid songs as a fandom oldie is that they're just not as memorable as the songs that were published between 2008 and c. 2015. Might be just my age and a lack of time to really dig around for new songs compared to when I was younger, but newer songs simply don't stick...
Wasn't sure whether to post this on this thread or as a status, but I wanted to discuss the infamous 'CryDie' again - namely, the remake by TaroTaro and Phi. Nothing serious, more of an observation I'm not sure enough people are touching on.
For the record, I think the remix is amazing for what...
I'm pretty sure the Yamaha demos are literally just Rei's UTAU samples processed quickly through Vocaloid. I presume any final Vocaloid bank would sound both closer to and higher quality than her DiffSinger and DeepVocal banks.
I think Big Al is one of those banks that simply fell victim to the passage of time. Back in the V2 and V3 era, he was pretty much the only deep toned male VB available, so people quickly went to him if they needed a song that called for his voice type. But nowadays, we have banks like Asterian...
I saw the Rei demos on my YouTube, and I had no clue what Yamaha had posted at first because I can't read Japanese. I won't lie, I nearly peed myself a bit when I realised I was hearing Rei in V6.
I'm actually glad V6 was picked over SynthV this time. Rei's voice was intentionally...
