Good Articles to Introduce Someone to Vocaloid?

Hello! I was wondering, do any of you know of any good articles to introduce someone to Vocaloid? Specifically the synthesis side, not the fandom side. My voice teacher is really interested in learning how it works, and I can't really find any great articles about the synthesis side. Preferably about Vocaloid 2-5's concatenative synthesis/UTAU synthesis, not V6/SynthV's AI synthesis. Thanks!

You'll find plenty of technical information if you search for research papers by Jordi Bonada at Pompeu Fabra University. His 2008 PhD thesis is probably the most complete out of the lot:

I'd suggest starting with the Vocaloid page on wikipedia:

If your teacher is open to watching more informal videos, this one gives a deceptively detailed look at how concatenative synthesis works! The benefit of a video is that so much of Vocaloid is much easier to explain with visual-audio examples.
