There is some confusion in the Vocaloid 7 thread, so let's clear some things:
- Miku chinese voicebank is still planned for first half of 2027 as a free update for Miku V6;
- Crypton were working on new features together with Yamaha, before and after Miku V6 release, and those surely helped with the development of Vocaloid 7
- Because Vocaloid 7 is based on Vocaloid 6 engine, it'll be easier to port existing voicebanks (let's say any V6 voicebank) to V7, but it still requires lots of work, tuning and testing.
- I think Crypton will announce Miku V7 next year for her 20th Anniversary, now their focus is on the chinese voicebank (which requires lots of tuning because of all the different accents of Chinese language compared to Japanese) and the other Piapro Characters;
- In detail, they gave hints many times, especially in spring and in summer during Magical Mirai, that Luka will be the next, both for NT2 engine and Vocaloid 6(7 now?). Since Crypton and Yamaha are working closely, it's possible they were waiting for the new features of Vocaloid 7 before any official announcement of Piapro Characters V6/V7
- I think we'll hear something nice from Crypton about future developments around this month or in November..:luka_lili::miku_lili:
