She seems a bit too peppy for such a serious topic, in my humble opinion (but the picture is really cute, thanks for sharing it with us). Now I'm kind of imagining some really dark Miku endorsed anti-drunk driving commercial. >>;

Dunno...maybe a peppy treatment, for a change, would get people's attention better than the usual anti-DUI commercials, which tend (at least in the US) to have the serious/somber tone?

Though, I don't know...how effective are the ads, really? After awhile, people probably stop really paying attention to the somber ones, and I don't honestly think the peppy ones would work, either. (Maybe a Japanese audience would be different from an American one, though?) I think the most effective ad would feature poor Miku getting creamed by the drunk driver but...*shudder* that'd drive the point home, for sure, but it'd be awful....

My guess would be that because drinking is such a big social thing in japan they didn't want the PSA to feel like it was going to bring down the group.

Okay, I was super curious and looked up some anti 飲酒運転 commercials and they were super creepy, had sad music, and were generally depressing while urging people to be mindful of others and not become criminals.
