Otome Kaibou wip ft. Mayu

[Scarlet Illusion]

I've been having some difficulties mixing this cover and could use a bit of feedback. I feel like Mayu's vocals don't sit very well in the mix, and additionally, I feel like although I like the way the tuning sounds for the most part, she sounds a bit bored or too weak at certain parts... if anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

You could mess around with pitch bends and vibrato a bit more to try and introduce more emotion. That's what I usually try. Other than that, I think it sounds good! It could use a bit more reverb to really blend with the backing track, but it sounds great as is!

I can see what you mean about the vocals not sitting well on the track. I agree with maybe a little more reverb, maybe a little more on the dryness scale?
Other than that, what plugins are you using to mix?

Also, for plugins, I'm just using a visual EQ, compressor, deEsser, limiter, and exciter.
