this is pretty much the exact reason why i say that AI technology can be useful but generative AI sucks complete horseshit. You just need it to aid the creative process, not for it to be it. [im having a rough time selecting the 'be' in that sentence to italicize it, just imagine i stressed it]
Being pedantic here (and this may not matter, given how the AI industry and its supporters muddies up AI terms to confuse the public) but gen AI refers to any AI that generates content, whether that be the IdeaPlagarizer or SynthV. One of the real problems with many mainstream AI products is that they are based off the large language model. Usually this refers to a large text-based dataset, but this model has since been adapted to image, video and audio models, in which case the term "large learning model" may be more apt, although that term isn't popular yet.
