What (in your opinion) Is The Best Vocaloid?

I'm going to anger someone with this.

What Vocaloid voicebank do you consider the best? As in the best one to use, or just simply your personal favorite from listening? I want to know! Please, keep things appropriate and try not to purposefully insult anyone else. If you can, give a reason for why. If not, that's perfectly fine!

For me... It has to be Meiko . Don't get me wrong, I love (most) all of them, but as my first voicebank, she has a special place in my heart. I guess specifically I really like Power and English. Power gives Meiko the strength that we all knew she had in her all along, and it sounds amazing and incredibly natural, if a little bit thin on high notes. And I know English isn't the best in terms of quality, what with being one of the Crypton V3 English voicebanks, but if you can make it work you can really make it work.

If I'm being honest, I think for me it's a tie between Iroha and Yukari. Iroha just gets a bonus because Kyounosuke is one of my favorite singers (though I only heard of him because of Iroha as far as I remember, so... maybe a bit of circular logic there ). They both have a pretty good range imo, and they can really rock the deeper end of their ranges, which I always appreciate. I feel like they have some of the most realistic tones out of the concatenative banks. I was listening to a Chihiro Ishiguro song once, and I almost could have believed it was a well-tuned Yukari song, and the first time I heard this one cover of Iroha singing the traditional version of Bad Apple, I half-jumped out of my seat because I got jumpscared by how much it sounded like Kyounosuke singing. (Dunno why I was surprised when it was one of my favorite vsynth users tuning, but still)

Though of course I say all this and my brain goes, "But what about V2 Gumi, remember when she came out and she was sooo cool and it blew you away," "HOW COULD YOU FORGET MIRIAM?", etc etc. My favorites tree just gets more complicated the more I try to think about it

Galaco 1000% i know that she has numerous faults but her voice is legit my favorite voicetype ever and remains my favorite vsynth voicebank to this day because of this, The almost overwhelming huskyness of her is perfection to me and her lower range is the things of dreams I swear

i really love rin for her voice, but a lot of the reason for why i love her is just how i headcanon her personality n' stuff. if this is just purely about voicebank, then gumi just might be the winner here, rin does come very close though

Quality wise? Guess I'll go with IA V3. She sounded very very professional and well made.

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if we asked everyone here to choose only 5 loids and that's all there was any more, there's one name that would be on most every list. She's the reason most of us are here and all heads must bow all tongues must confess Hatsune Miku; it's her world we're just living in it :P.

Oliver is my number one favorite Vocaloid bar none. He's like a son to me.

Out of my three favorites ( <- these goobers), the main one that I've seen that can do anything well is Kiyoteru. Even before his Synth V bank, I couldn't find many examples of his voicebank that sounded outright bad. I think all his bank's sound neat, but I like V2 a bit more than V4 Natural / Rock, and I think Synth V Kiyoteru is really swell and a near perfect Voicebank that has a lot of differing elements to make him better sounding, but still has the quirks that made me like Kiyoteru's voice in the first place. Meanwhile, Kaito + Meiko have certain sour spots in their voicebanks that make them excell with some types of usage but fall hard with others (My favorite voicebanks from them are V3 Soft (Kaito) and V3 Power (Meiko) by the way. I also really love both of their V1 banks though).

Some other Voicebanks I really love are all of Iroha's voicebanks (though I haven't gotten around to listening to their Synth V bank yet), Luka's V2 JP, Sachiko (i wish she was used more often... cries), Yuezheng Longya's Vocaloid voice banks, and Gumi's Vocaloid vb's. there are probably some more i completely missed.

in terms of quality, I personally like Meiko's V1 bank. it's very clear, and sounds nice for banks from around that time. SONiKA is a close second though, while a bit difficult to work with, she can be tuned to sound very well. I find the concept behind her voice very interesting too, being able to enunciate words from any language clearly. Camui Gackpo is a nice sounding one too, for male Voicebanks. But he's voiced by the one and only Gackt, so he has an unfair advantage. >,_,>

My personal favorite is Lily. I feel like if I had to pick who the best I think quality wise is, I think my heart leans towards VY1. Though this may be an outdated opinion because I don't listen to much V6 so unsure what the most modern vbs sound like, but VY1's quality was unmatched in my eyes back in the day.
