2.) Ace Studio isn't popular with the wider vocal synth fandom for multiple reasons, so it's rare we talk about it here.
I don’t disagree with peoples’ discomfort with the engine and those who previously worked on it, but there is a conversation to be had (imo) about where the line is drawn regarding the third parties who also support said engines, because I don’t imagine people would really hold any grudges towards the VP for this (and understandably, I wouldn’t either!!)
With that aside, I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy into ACE just because they see a character they like on the engine, but I think it’s interesting that they’ve returned to promoting character vocals (the well known Korean utau POTG was also announced to be getting a VB!) after quite a large and jarring absence.
also, so nobody else feels like they’re missing out, I have gotten to try her and I feel like she has a very unique and androgynous sound, but who expected anything less. It’s a good voicebank all things considered.
