Figuring out what voice bank to get is always hard. But the good thing about synth v is most of them have lite banks and free basic Editor so you can try before you buy. I would say if you are really wanting a particular Vocaloid and is 100% happy with it as is and the idea that it will never get updated or work on upcoming engines then totally go for the vocaloid. But if you are not 100% satisfied with vocaloid and you are working in English then go with synth v. Synth V is the future of English ai vocal synths and regularly gets updated and has an easy to use user interface. Solaria, Anri, Elenore, and maki are all good useable banks. The only thing it doesn't have currently is an ai male vocal but that is being fixed soon with that English male.
