Subscription based models are a plague. At least they seem to still be offering a perpetual license for CSP 2.0? Though, I can't say I'm super enthused about having a purchase another perpetual license if I want 2.0 since I already own 1.0. Glad I didn't end up upgrading my license to CSP EX like I originally planned to earlier this year...

Subscription models are of the devil! If the service provider ever goes out of business, or shuts down the servers, you're left with nothing. I like to own the things I buy. I don't like to pay for permission to use it temporarily and get changed money even when I don't use it. And a huge chunk of the money they make is from people forgetting to cancel their subscription. Like how stores make tons of money from people buying gift cards and then forgetting to use them.

Not to mention that subscription models can prompt some people to pirate a version of the software that doesn't require a sub.
