Is it just me or is the lack of integrity and the striving for short-term investments and gains over long-term investments in companies and corporations more...visible, in the past decade and now? I'm probably wrong, though.

I didn't use the word 'prevalent' because I don't think these practices have changed much. It's become overt instead of covert, I think.

The moral of the story is: stay true to your values and stay smart and aware in business, I think.

EDIT 3:
I don't know why I wrote this lol. In your post, the word 'greed' captured my attention the most, I think.

EDIT 4:
I think what speaks volumes about a company/corporation the most, are their practices.

I think it's becoming a lot more overt, and not just in business, @Ryleigh Goldner. Lots of people are polarizing in one direction or the other. Some are focusing more on what's best for themselves/what's most profitable in the short term. Others are beginning to think more broadly, thinking more about the welfare of "people" (or even "Earth") as a whole, and over the long term as well as the short term.

I believe that thought among people progresses in waves--sometimes it moves toward the broader viewpoint, and sometimes it moves back toward the narrower viewpoint. Overall, though, I think it moves toward the broader. That's why we don't have the degree of anarchy/social injustice that we had hundreds or thousands of years ago (not that those things don't still exist, it's just not as bad as it once was).

Ultimately, the direction of this movement should be comforting. Taken to its ultimate end, the narrow viewpoint leads to societal dissolution, anarchy, fear, violence, and death. The broader viewpoint leads to a harmonious situation where everyone coexists/works together, and everyone thrives.

Bingo. You said it extremely great.

EDIT:
Deleted most of the reply. Probably moving it somewhere else.
