To me, she's always been a perfect example of the commonly-thrown "glow up" moment because when she was arriving in V2 people found her very raspy and breathy, and then from V3 she gained even much more popularity and was praised for her improvements and appends (though the V4 was probably a bit too much and the V3 Eng has its flaws hiding her qualities ^^"' )

I would say about the realism VS robotic thing that to me, she is kinda like MEIKO V3 ENG : while not being the most human and realistic, as in, having less engine noise than everyone, on the other side tone-wise she's pretty close to a singer you'd hear well on the radio (same comment for CLARA sounding really like a true Spanish woman or Avanna and Miriam having a timbre that is convincing no matter how soft their voices are or how old the V1 engine was with MIRIAM -Léon and lola do too though they do sound more robotic because yeah, the first vbs to release)

Lol, yeah you have a point there!

@Nova No, it isn't a valid point. You can't simply extrapolate an argument to a group, for example: I can't say feminists don't think trans women are real women because Radfems don't agree with the take transexuals are true women. You can't extrapolate something from a person or a part of the group and apply to the whole. For example, me! I've never said Gumi was the less robotic one and never disagreed with someone in this take bc what really matters to me is the tuning and mixing skills.

But even if the thing above was valid, their point still is a bad point because you think that Gumi is good for being the most human-like vocaloid voicebank doesn't mean you necessarily wants Vocaloid to sound like a human. You can simply want more vocaloids that are easy to use like Gumi, being able to reach a robotic yet more human sound than all the others voicebanks, without necessarily wanting her to sound exactly like her voice provider.

Said that, Vocaloid Gumi >>> SynthV Gumi. Sorry, but it's just how it is because everyone knows SynthV is just good because of my King Kevin, Teto, Solaria, Rose and D-Lin (This last line is just salty because I don't really like that take of better sounding than others. They're just different, tho I appreciate way more someone who can do the hard one sound good than the one who uses the easier option (Tho I also agree that we should always ask for easier vocal synths to work with, not harder. It's just that there is an undeniably artistic skill into making something hard beautiful)).

(Sorry if I sounded angry, wasn't my intention XD)

@AddictiveCUL (Add) Alright then, allow me to amend my statement: If you said Gumi sounded more robotic back in the day, then MOST people probably would have dogpiled on you saying otherwise. There, is that better for you?
