It's always important to have a back up of your files, save your writting and school work etc too. It's sucky to lose your files I don't want that to happen to you.

Are you sure you have to do that? Are there any computer repair places in town other than Geek Squad (might have to check Yellow Pages website)? What's wrong with your computer that it needs to go to the manufacturer? S:

@uncreepy I got as many other opinions as I could. Everyone confirmed that sending it off was really the only sure-fire option. The hinges came off, so replacing the entire lower half is all that can be done.
