I know what you mean. I think its good practice to think about the breath when you draw the notes. I just give a little break (about a 1/16th notes worth) at the end of some phrases so that it sounds more natural

Wow, I feel like the minority here who hates breath noises, especially on real human songs. o_0; When I don't hear them at all, I am happy. If they are breathing a lot it makes me uncomfortable and really angry, it makes me wonder why they didn't edit the loud breathing out. For me, it's like someone crinkling a chip bag.
