Holy moly, these English-speaking VTubers really blew up. I literally see them on Twitter every day and now everyone and their mom is either buying commissions for Live2D avatars or selling them. It'll be weird/trippy if you are right about her overtaking Kizuna Ai!

Yeah, some time last year the original actor behind Kizuna Ai quit doing regular streaming and they replaced her with several different actors for several different Kizuna Ais. It backfired horribly for Ai's agency. Luna's original actor also quit too. Poor labor practices damaged the morale of the first waves of vtubers. Ai and Luna's channels where going to eventually fall anyways. It's just I didn't think it was going to be this soon.
2d is much easier to implement for much longer streams without overtaxing the actors than the plain old 3d ones. Heck, Gura did a 5 hour long Minecraft stream last night. If she tried doing doing a stream like that with a 3d avatar for half that long, she would have probably lost her mind.

May I ask what the difference between using a 3d and 2d avatar is? Sorry I really know nothing about this stuff but I'm curious
