You and me both. I’ll never understand how Vocaloid is considered the easiest and best vocal synth by so many people, because it never has been user-friendly in my experience. :ring_ani_lili:

That’s why I had to teach myself, honestly. All the tutorials went RIGHT over my head.

I personally recommend not reading tutorials on tuning. I found that it was easier to figure everything out by doing it myself and testing the parameters to see how they affected the voice, then writing down what they did.
@Kazumimi I started tuning on Piapro(A good place to start in my opinion), then changed to V5. V5 is much more user-friendly to me personally compared to older iterations of Vocaloid.

Edit: Peaches beat me to it:clara_ani_lili:

Honestly? Tuning is just something u need to have an ear for 1st and then it's all about training those ears, you can get tips on how to train them but in the end the learning process is on you. Also depends on the editor but thats a whole other story ghjkl

I think some of my issue may be that I completely forget about PBS and POR and that I rush into PIT and try to tune like I do in UTAU, which is drawing huge downwards or upwards pitch bends lol

POR is way easier in V5 imo but it's harder in the previous editors so ppl barely used to touch it youre fine hgfds and the other parameters ( besides por in my case ) are a second thought to me too, just try things out and see what does and doesnt work but yeah in Vocaloid u cant get away w crazy pit as much

So this way too relatable?? Recently I had to read a tuning guide for V4 because I was trying to get back into the feel of tuning in the engine... and things like POR, XYS and basically the majority of V4's parameters make me go ???? ugh I always forget about them. I wish I was as comfortable tuning with V4 like I am with UTAU because I love using Avanna but... she always sounds way better in my head than when I actually try tuning her lolll

Would you guys say Piapro Studio is bit more easier / straightforward than the actual V4 editor? Piapro studio came with when I got Luka V4X but I never did anything with it much. maybe I just need to splurge and buy V5
