KotonoSync Tutorial Part 2: How to use (Basics)

Tutorial KotonoSync Tutorial Part 2: How to use (Basics)

Note: For now, there are no images. I will translate them after I translate the interface. Please check back later.

Note: There might be some parts with not 100% natural English because of how I translate Japanese > English in my head and some software specific terms that I don't remember the most common English equivalent for. But overall it should make enough sense to follow without problems. I just don't want to spend forever translating these tutorials.

Prepare the VSQX file of the song you want sung in that was created in Vocaloid Editor or another software.

1. Launch KotonoSync.

The screen organization is generally something like this.

2 ~ 3. Select the prepared VSQX's path and the name of the VOICEROID you want to sing.

First, select the sequence file (VSQX) created in VOCALOID Editor and the VOICEROID you want to sing.

In this application's initial state, several VOICEROIDs are registered, but if the VOICEROID you want to sing isn't displayed as a choice, the method to register libraries is written in this article's second half, so please try it out.

4 ~ 5. Convert song data

We will convert the song data based on the selected VOCALOID and VOICEROID settings. VOICEROIDs have different musical intervals, so hereafter it becomes necessary to reconvert song data for different VOICEROIDs you want to make sing.

Also, how to interpret a VSQX file when converting song data can be set from the [Song conversion settings] tab.
Please check out usage details which are planned to be contributed in a later article.

When the tuning is complete, a list with song data like this is displayed in a list with converted contents for VOICEROID-use recitation data.

6 ~ 7. Initiate rhythm and tuning

Finally the initiation of rhythm and tuning. Automatic tuning is really time-intensive work, so please wait patiently. As a result of operating outside of VOICEROID by sending computer key input data, errors can happen if keyboard input happens during tuning. In that situation, please press the initiation button again according to the displayed contents.

The tuning is complete. The tuning results are displayed in the note list as well.

8. Playback the voice with a VOICEROID

The default settings are automatically saved as a WAVE file when tuning is complete, but let's finally have them sing from within VOICEROID.

* It will recite the selected phrase with F2 key in the phrase list
* It will recite the checked phrase with the F3 key in the phrase list

[Note: There is a video of Akane singing doremifasolatido that was supposed to be a reference, but it is unfortunately marked as private]
