It's probably worth mentioning that Vocaloid's engine also renders its VBs in a way that gives them a distinct sound, to the point that some people have complained about VBs sounding too "Vocaloid-y" or obviously artificial in the past. It's hard to explain as well, but the simplest way to put...
At the very least, it's some proof that SeeU and Uni aren't dead as VBs. Active development may have completely fallen off, but at least they will still be sold and promoted for the foreseeable future.
I love Cong Zheng's tone, but at the same time I can see why some people think nearly all of Dreamtonics' VBs sound similar to each other. I don't think it helps that the letter VBs come out with regular frequency (unlike, say, a smaller third-party dev like Eclipsed Sounds right now, who are...
I'm not into Bang Dream in the slightest, but I already love how the two VBs sound, especially Rose. By CeVIO standards, they sound really high quality, and they mostly lack the engine noise that normally lets down CeVIO VBs.
His design is peak FABULOUS, I love it already. (But someone in the comments said his voice sounds like the guy who did 'Chocolate Rain', and now I'm mad at that comparison because I know I'd laugh my ass off if someone did a cover of it. orz)
Oh, I do agree that the noisiness has diminished overtime. It's just something that continues to bug me about CeVIO and stops me loving it as much as Vocaloid and SynthV.
I'd be down for this if more companies offered support for browsers other than Chrome. It feels like we're back to the bad...
Although I do keep up with CeVIO as a voice synth, to this day I've never been a fan of its engine noise, not even with its AI version or Voicesona. CeVIO's engine noise sounds "buzzy" to me in a way that can be really unpleasant to my ears in some banks. Just to use the 1st Place girls as...
Someone else suggested that Volor could release a free PDF of the art that might have been used for the physical boxes. That would definitely take out some of the sting of the whole fiasco.
I was gonna make a profile post about Mastodon after seeing what's happened to Twitter. Not planning to join just yet because I generally enjoy a quiet life on the internet with just a few accounts now, and I dunno how Mastodon will cope overall with its newbie boom, but I'm definitely keeping...
I feel a bit inclined to agree that the V2s that are still around should be sold at cheaper retail prices than currently. But on the other hand, V2s still come with the V2 program bundled as was the old standard, which is probably the main reason why they're still expensive. I think there are...
It probably doesn't help that Japanese users are still loyal to Vocaloid and CeVIO, and Vocaloid itself has just been upgraded to V6 with AI (including crosslingual) support. The English-speaking fandom used to rag on Vocaloid for being behind other synths in recent years, but now it's back in...
VocaDB already attempts to keep track of artist discographies, but it's not a host for content - if a song disappears, any links will simply go dead.
I'd say preservation might be trickier for the vocal synth fandom because some producers might not want their stuff to be actively shared again...
Late to the party, but I've always relied on GIMP if I need to do something more strenuous than editing a screencap (I just use MS Paint for that lol). It's true that it has a clunky UI, but if you know what you're doing with the tools, you can create Photoshop-tier results. There are also...
My personal bias is for German, but realistically I can see V6 adding support back for Korean and Spanish, with SynthV following suit in the future. (I mean, Solaria already comes with a Spanish dictionary.)
