I agree - if they wanted a cuter version of the real Kaf, the VB should have been recorded that way from the start. Editing the original voice to make it sound cuter just made the final product sound way worse than expected.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aside from otaku types who eat up anything cutesy, doesn't Japanese culture usually discourage direct/harsh criticism (i.e. if they criticise something, they usually do it in a polite way)?
Hearing that demo is so disappointing. I've pretty much lost all interest in...
The only VB I can think of that needs improvement right now is Kaito, because I wish he had a Power bank. All he got was two soft VBs and English in V3 in addition to his original bank.
Disappointed to hear her only append banks will be Whisper and Dark (for now, perhaps - is EVEC still a thing in NT?). Solid was one of my favourite append banks because of its power, and I did like Sweet too (unless the new Whisper bank is a repackaged Sweet or Soft). I don't care that Vivid...
Miku looks like she's going to a fancy futuristic dinner party, and I really dig it lol.
I'm so glad she doesn't look like she's balding anymore, compared to her V4 design. Keeping the white shirt was a good idea too.
I was just about a drop a post on the Vocamerch thread about that design possibly being the final NT design. It certainly looks like something I'd expect for the final design, since it takes cues from all the official Miku designs we've seen over the years.
I kind of wish we had more voice acted English banks, but I just know they will bomb in sales - typical amateur and professional musicians will be turned off by any unusual-sounding (English) voices, and many vocal synth fans probably wouldn't even buy it to support it.
I really want an English version of Charlie in the future, reading up on what Yamaha want him to be capable of. I just like the idea of an AI trying to cheer me up by telling a dirty joke or swearing.
Apparently, some people are already upset that Charlie will essentially be a private...
Aaaaah, this is adorable! It's like having a similar program such as Alexa, Siri or Cortana being able to sing.
A few comments on the original video are also wondering if it uses Vocaloid, while also namedropping some banks.
I've already said this in the Discord, but while I am disappointed they won't be using Type A after all, I won't criticise Kaf's decision because it's not my call to make. It's a VB being made with her voice, not mine. Saying that, I do agree that Kafu's announcement and promotion so far have...
I was gonna say if anyone complained about Gakupo sounding too close to GACKT, or IA sounding too close to Lia* or something along those lines.
*Personally, I don't think IA sounds anything like Lia at all, which annoyed the hell outta me as a Lia fan at first, but now I like it. I just...
I don't understand now why they didn't make Type A and B as append banks for Kafu... As in, Type A would be Kafu Natural and Type B would be Kafu Sweet, or something like that. I deliberately ignored Type C because it literally just sounds like Type B on AutoTune.
Honestly, this announcement is...
I'm kinda disappointed with the voice so far, because when I saw the character design, I thought a deeper tone would have been the most appropriate (I'm not the least bit familiar with Kaf the VTuber at all).
The language barrier between Crypton and the Western fandom might be the problem. Plus, as I've bolded in your original post, the Vocaloid fandom as a whole is way too large for one company to try and police how fans use their characters. Plus, any fan policing would just attract backlash -...
Vocaloid Eurobeat sadly isn't too common within the fandom - aside from Samfree's (RIP) Night Fever songs, you usually just find remixes of non-Eurobeat tracks. Originals do exist though - if you type in "vocaloid eurobeat" on YouTube, you might find some stuff.
Oh, I remember that incident. I...
