Is that $11699 before or after tariffs are applied?

    SynthV Synthesizer V Studio 2

No snark was intended. It's simply a reality that most SynthV AI voicebanks have had a sandpaper-like audio quality since day one, even with SVS1. Some are better than others, which makes me think it's not an engine issue, but a source recording issue. Teto, for example, is noticeably smoother...

    SynthV Synthesizer V Studio 2

I don't share your confidence considering the amount of SynthV voicebanks that sound like sandpaper.

    SynthV Synthesizer V Studio 2

Uh... I was just trying Mai 2 and the chirps/squeaks also exist in this voicebank. It seems to be a general SVS2 problem...?

    SynthV Synthesizer V Studio 2

I'm not really a tuner-type person, but I did prefer using the manual mode, so I'm happy to hear this. As for how a non-tuner like myself used the manual mode: I'd first select the generate performance feature (or whatever it was called) with the vibrato sliders turned down to their absolute...

Update on Moca experiments: Different song, different vocal mode, same chirps/squeaks. It's as if there's a small bird singing quietly just outside my window.

It shows up on a spectrogram as a sudden leap from ~3200 Hz to ~3400 Hz. Here's a very (very) short extract from the previous clip, in which a chirp/squeak is heard at slightly before halfway. If you put it on repeat, the unwanted sound should become apparent.

    SynthV Synthesizer V Studio 2

Below is a short clip. The first obvious chirp/squeak occurs just before the 1.4 second mark. A second example happens at 4.4 seconds. Once you've trained your ears to recognize the chirp/squeak, you'll notice them throughout the entire clip.

    SynthV Synthesizer V Studio 2

I've been using Moca 2 for a bit now and have begun to notice quiet chirping/squeaking sounds in the background. They're hard to hear at first, but once you recognize them, you'll notice them quite frequently. These chirps/squeaks are definitely coming from Moca 2 and nowhere else. (For the...

    SynthV Synthesizer V Studio 2

After spending some time with an SVS2 voicebank in SVS2, I can safely say that they respond more quickly than SVS1 voicebanks in SVS1, and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more quickly than SVS1 voicebanks in SVS2.

    SynthV Synthesizer V Studio 2

I've now noticed that the closer I get to the end of a song, the more responsive SVS2 becomes to changes made when using SVS1 voicebanks. My current hypothesis is that SVS2 renders everything from the point where changes are made all the way to the end of the song data. Only once that rendering...

    SynthV Synthesizer V Studio 2

I've noticed that when using SVS1 voicebanks, you need to adjust the vibrato (middle) point a few times before any updates occur. And wait. You must wait. A lot of waiting. Perhaps related, it seems to me that when using SVS1 voicebanks in SVS2, the entire track must be re-rendered before any...

I can't find a full screen mode... All my other music software has one, but not SVS2? (Or SVS1 for that matter.)

    SynthV Synthesizer V Discussion Thread

So there I was, reading an article on Ars Technica, when an advertisement for an online casino appeared off to one side. Not unsurprisingly, this ad featured a slop-generated image. But something seemed awfully familiar about this particular slop image: Now that's an image that will make SynthV...

    [Solaria] Tide of Time [SynthV]

Above is my final vocal synth song. The lyrics were originally going to be written by someone else, but in the end I wound up writing them myself. I hate writing lyrics, and the process took about ten days of struggle. Lyric writing isn't something I want to be doing. And I'm also tired of...

Question How to start off use of DAW?

My recommendation would be to give a schwackload of DAWs a try and see which one best suits your personal needs and workflow. It is entirely possible that you may want to switch to a different DAW as you gain experience, but worry about switching when—or if—that moment arrives.

    [Solaria] Untitled 2022 [SynthV]

Look at that video thumbnail. It's gorgeous! Or maybe not... I had fun using the Dall-E AI image generator to make the "paintings" for this video. Their inherent goofiness fits the song. My original intention was to use far more paintings, but Dall-E wore my patience a little thin. In other...

    How Audio Works/Avoiding Clipping

Never be afraid to lower the volume of your tracks. Most modern DAWs and plugins work in 64-bit floating point, which essentially gives you 52 bits of resolution for every 6 db of signal. This means you can go very quiet without losing information.

    How Audio Works/Avoiding Clipping

How long is the crash tail? If it's 100% gone by the 15 second mark then something else might be at play. The master bus is a literal sum of all your tracks, and if they were all playing exactly the same thing at exactly the same time, then the result would be very loud. It's just basic...
