*sigh* Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to work the same as the last two years. It requires registering a Pia.jp account, which insists on a Japanese phone number. (Presumably it does SMS verification or something.) The last couple of years they had an option for overseas sales and it didn't require that.

mm..yes I noticed that, about the pia.jp ticket available this year only in japanese..(and correct, a japanese phone number is required to complete the account registration, and sometimes the SMS is sent also for each purchase). Have you tried the Lawson one? The page is in english, it is easy to make an account (only email needed, no phone number) and I remember the previous years the Lawson service supported also Paypal. And if there is some region block, you might try the VPN Gate that I linked in the message :meiko_ani_lili:

Awesome, thanks! That did work. I already had a Zaiko account set up from some previous event, it seems, and with the VPN it didn't complain about region availability.

I'm so happy it worked!! :akari_lili:
The past years there wasn't region block for Lawson ticket (and Pia.jp didn't need the account for the live stream), but like it happened with the Japan Tour 2025 Blooming (Abema live stream), probably some songs' licenses made it difficult to make the live stream available overseas..:piko_lili:
The VPN Gate is super nice!:mell_lili: :kanatomell_lili:

I'm really glad there's a workaround! But, if Teto is going to be more of a fixture, I really hope they can get related licensing issues sorted rather than simply blacking out entire audience regions. (Not saying I know that's the reason--I haven't seen the setlists--but it seems like a reasonable guess to me.) I have no issue with the expansion of the lineup, but I'd REALLY rather that this solution for handling it not become the trend.

Region-exclusivity is just...completely counter to the connecting, accepting aspects that are foundational to these concerts and culture. That's the thing. (Nevermind that it's a bit inconvenient, if not an outright barrier in other cases, for me personally.)

I saw the setlist for the Tokyo leg of the tour and the location-exclusive song is Nice to Meet You Mr. Earthling

I don't understand why they would block overseas regions over a setlist that doesn't seem that sensational compared to the smaller sized Japan tour that had a guest vocal synth perform.

I would get the region lock if they had Teto back again or had other singers like Luo Tianyi or IA perform, but the entire setlist is all Crypton.

Not to mention, all of the songs in the setlist are available on streaming globally, which makes streaming licenses being region locked even more baffling.

Has CFM ever had the idea that restricting the rest of the world from streaming their concerts legally would result in even more piracy? You'd think they'd learn from the fiasco that is Blooming (especially TWINDRILL's infamous tweet about the situation).

I understand about that, but regarding the region lock, it is something that is more about the video service providers (Pia.jp , Lawson ticket and for Thunderbolt and Blooming tours, it was Abema). I mean, is not something really in control of CFM and Tokyo MX, the organizers of the event. They both can decide about the video service providers (and for Magical Mirai, it's usually Pia.jp and Lawson ticket), but if there are some region restrictions for some licenses, they can't do much about it..
Things get more complicated for classic songs and if there are some different modules/costumes during a song, because those need a license too.
And also, even if a song is available for purchase/streaming, it still needs a different license when is played live during a concert, especially a concert with different producers' songs. A producer signs a contract with a music company, and then it's that company that decides about the song's licenses.
When there is a region block, most of the times it means there were some issues about some songs/costumes licenses that couldn't be solved in time..
edit: pia.jp live stream ticket now available, please see the message below->

That actually sheds a lot of light on the situation; when you're getting down to the level of the costumes and different media (live vs. Blu-ray), it sounds like there's a different license for everything....

The fact that the region lock got removed at the last minute makes me feel a lot better about everything :).

Important Notice for the streaming: :zunko_smile_lili: :tohukozunko_smile_lili:
I noticed they've updated the URL of the Pia.jp service:
https://ticket.pia.jp/piasp/inbound/magicalmirai25-o-engpls.jsp

now is possible to buy a live streaming ticket from Pia.jp without an account and there isn't region block! :meiko_ani_lili:
That's cool that they opened it up at the last minute. I also wonder if it could have just been an oversight...like Pia.jp maybe is geared around things that are region locked by default, and there have to be extra steps to enable something to not require an account. (Hopefully my Lawson one will work fine lol.)

I couldn't make it to Japan this year, so live stream it was! It was an amazing show this year :) They did so many group songs, it was quite nice to see them all perform together for that many songs <3

The third city they announced for 2026 is not what I expected at all!! I was wondering if they would cycle between Sapporo, Fukuoka, and Sendai since they're all quite far from Osaka/Tokyo. But to see Hamamatsu makes me think that they're going to be more experimental with the cities they chose than I expected. Which is super exciting because I want to visit some of the other cities (Kagoshima, Kumamoto, and Aomori in particular) and being able to do that and see a Magical Mirai concert sounds so fun >///<

I hope everyone enjoyed the show this year ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )

I wish I could've been there. I caught some of the livestream and will watch the rest later. Hopefully I can go next year that's if I can afford it after expo tickets.
