So, as one of the people who speculated about Deco27 using a then-unannounced Vocaloid 6 Miku way back around the time "Rookie" came out (the English break in it was clearly not V4X)...I got a good chuckle out of this how-to video that Ao Thunder just released: "How to Tune Miku's Vocaloid like Deco*27 V6 Tutorial"

A VSQX with some light adjustments and a vocal chain using only built-in V6 effects (rather than probably better DAW ones) managed to just about nail the sound of Monitoring. Enough to get a good ear for the note transitions and inflection, and within a reasonable margin of error for a recreation. (Listen for the final result/part past the telephonized initial verse.)

Also, a solid tutorial for working with Miku V6.

@Vector: This video is super helpful. Thank you! Added to the Tuning Resources.

Glad you find it useful. It was a good find, and I think the creator explained things well enough that someone could learn from the techniques and do it with VST plugins in a DAW instead of using the more limited in-editor ones. e.g. if I were going for such a sound, I'd probably use stock Ableton devices for most of it, maybe a fancier reverb plugin. (Also, one could save the in-editor ones as a style preset and easily reuse them.)

The short delay trick is actually an old one that goes back to reel-to-reel tape, as an artificial way to thicken up a vocal and add presence without having to record and layer multiple takes. It can also be done with one panned left and one panned right to create more stereo width.
