VOCALOID Least Favorite Vocaloid Ever

big Al. i know there are some pretty dedicated fans of him but i just cannot understand how anyone likes his voice, and his design just isnt any good either lol. i like some early engloids for the "charm" in old banks but i just never found him to sound good from the start lol. hes definitely a voice i dislike, and the one time i used him i didnt enjoy working w his pronunciation in trying to combat the sound i didnt like either so.

on an addition, i know gachapoid has always been a heavily hated voice-- either due to his vocals or because of his weird design. i had a period where i tackled the irony of enjoying him and then... really ended up liking him xD i would actually love to have more "weird" character voiced vocals like him, honestly, even when he wasnt the best. we just dont have that and i think its cool hearing them sing. its a shame he got so much hate for that reason, makes me wonder if there couldve been more similar attempts after him...

I think Big Al is one of those banks that simply fell victim to the passage of time. Back in the V2 and V3 era, he was pretty much the only deep toned male VB available, so people quickly went to him if they needed a song that called for his voice type. But nowadays, we have banks like Asterian and Frimomen doing Big Al's voice type in far higher quality than what was possible back in 2010. And while it's normally unfair to compare a V2 voice with SynthV ones, Big Al does sound rough around the edges now - he's got some weird ways of enunciating words, which was a common problem amongst pretty much all Engloids of the time, but I can still remember the early Vocaloid fandom latching on to his "strange" voice and memeing the hell outta him. Which probably doesn't help his modern reputation...

Yeeeeeeeessss, I want more strange character vocals! I could never bring myself to hate Gachapoid despite him being one of the most niche Vocaloids out there. I know he's extremely limited in usage, but I still find him oddly endearing.

Around the time Gachapoid came out, someone made a mockup boxart of a SpongeBob SquarePants Vocaloid, and even though it was supposed to be a joke, to this day I still genuinely want a Spongeloid!
