Do you prefer having a vocal synthesizer, or voicebanks thereof, sitting on your shelf, rather than digital downloads?

Perhaps, you barely even compose music at all, but you still enjoy collecting your favorite singing robots, just like others collect their favorite video games!
One day, your physical collection might even outlast the official online shops, and your collection might play a role in the preservation of vocal synthesis history!

If you are looking for a certain voicebank physically and can't find it, you may find an online source in this thread!

Also, feel free to offer your physical vocal synths for sale if you have any! Don't forget to deactivate them, include the activation codes and DON'T EVER share the activation codes online! tip for shopping in these stores: even though most store clerks can speak english, I always recommend to show them on your phone (or a printed paper, you can easily print from print machines of famima, Lawson and 7eleven convenience stores) the item you're looking for. If the store has more branches in Japan, they might even check if that item is available in other stores as well ^-^

I own all Miku boxes, they are all very precious to me, filled with so many good memories<3
one more tip: always make a backup copy of your voice synth, being a DVD or a digital download (for example, Miku NT is digital download). always have a copy of both setup files and latest updates

Oh, what do I do now? I wanted to add VOICEPEAK because those have so many CDs available, but I hit the character limit... Didn't start with Synthesizer V and CeVIO yet.

Guess I will have to enter those in separate messages. Or, perhaps I should move my tips to a separate message.

My tips for you:
- ALWAYS make sure the seller deactivates their software! You need the serial codes to be intact! Never buy listings where the serial codes can be seen on the images!
- If you would like to have modern voicebanks, from VOCALOID3 up to VOCALOID6, VOICEPEAK and Synthesizer V AI, travel to Japan. Go to any Yodobashi Camera store. The one in Akihabara has got the most.
- A few stores in Ochanomizu, Japan have modern vocal synths for sale. Ochanomizu has the highest density of music instrument shops in the Tokyo area. You might also find rare Hatsune Miku collaboration guitars and other equipment there.
- Ask your local music retailer to order for you. Just tell them who made that voice bank and see if they can order from that company. Yes, they import things from Japan a lot. All products from famous manufacturers, such as Yamaha, or Zero-G, can be ordered worldwide, depending on the availability of that particular product.
- In some countries, like Germany, PC software is still being sold on CDs at major hardware stores. You may stumble upon older voice banks in smaller shops in some rural areas every once in a while.
- Make lists of all music shops in your area on Google Maps. See if they have an online shop, type in generic words like "Vocaloid", or "Hatsune Miku." If they don't - call them, or visit their store!
- Pretty much every Chinese VOCALOID bank can be found new on Taobao, except a few.
- Some voicebanks have special collector bonuses, such as SEKAI (VOICEPEAK) coming with a big can badge of the box art, or Hatsune Miku V4 Chinese coming with a big golden keychain and powerbank!!
- VOCALOID1 voice banks are not compatible with later versions of the VOCALOID Editor. VOCALOID2 voice banks are compatible with later versions of the VOCALOID Editor up until VOCALOID4. VOCALOID3 voice banks are compatible with all later versions of the VOCALOID Editor.
- MIRIAM (V1) can only be found with either used serial codes, or ones that have not been activated yet. No new ones.
- All VOCALOID3 voice banks also contain the "Tiny VOCALOID3 Editor."
- All voice banks by AH-Software also include trial versions of some of their other software + some bonuses like "exVOICE" files, or MMD models of characters.
- Hatsune Miku V4 Chinese also includes a standalone version of Piapro Studio in Chinese, which is only compatible with this voice bank alone.

I also removed any unneccessary text, including the "looking for" placeholders. Now fields with no known resource remain blank.
Furthermore, I shortened all links to their abbreviations, such as Crypton = CFM, Yodobashi Camera = YC, SH Taobao = Shanghai Henian Taobao.

@Nova Once again, I ran into the character limit.30k was not enough. Those CeVIO Starter Packs demanded more. I had to shorten some names.

I added everything I could find on Yodobashi Camera, from VOCALOID to Synthesizer V, CeVIO and VOICEROID. Some parts are completely filled with YC links.
I also added a third part after speech synthesis - hardware synthesis. Tomorrow, I'll add more links from the AHS and Crypton stores, plus whatever else I find on VocaDB to be still working. After that, I'll try to fill the empty gaps.

Most AHS, Crypton, Shanghai Henian and CeVIO products got covered. It's only a matter of time until each has multiple links.

What I still need support with, is figuring out for sure, which products are download-only. I guess it's 50% of all SynthV banks, all PowerFX banks and some Zero-G banks, right? Need confirmation on that.

Major changes! From now on, I'll only add a grand total of 2 links per voicebank. The recent ones can be found in abundance anyway.
I needed to implement this rule in order to fit the character limit. Not only, did I exceed 40k characters in the original post, but I have also reached this limit in my 2nd message. Because of that, I had to improvise and split the thread like this:

A huge shoutout goes to the Vocal Synth Retailers Resource Blog by Takoyaki Donuts, which they showed me on Discord! I was able to complete most lists thanks to their lists of what has been discontinued, or is very limited. Now I need to research each remaining voicebank individually to make sure which ones had a limited physical release and which ones never had one to begin with.
The oldest synths, Cantor and VOCALOID1-3, remain the most elusive ones. Nevertheless, I was able to find Kagamine Rin/Len Append, Stardust V4 and some unknown "VOCALOID for Education" software that most people thought were gone forever! I also remember seeing some version of galaco Talk in person at Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara, in late March of 2024, shortly before the activation process was discontinued.

Next I'm going to add Voisona Talk, research galaco, research Voicemith, add A.I.VOICE 2 and add Maghni AI.
Last but not least, here is a photo of my singing robot shelf! Tsurumaki Maki AI Complete was a gift from AHS and Anime Messe Babelsberg to VOCABERLIN e.V., hence why there is a "Not for Sale" mark on the barcode.
