So the application lottery ended yesterday and the VX-β software will stop working after March 31st. Any news on what's going to happen after that? (Also did non-Japanese residents ever get the ability to apply?)
As far I know they never opened an application specifically for people outside Japan, but I'm pretty sure I've seen non-Japanese people who got to use it so I guess they didn't mind as long as you could fill out the form. (Kind of wish they had reached out more to English speakers since they had a native English bank in there iirc but ah well)
I got an email from them this morning (since I applied) that made it sound like they plan to use the info they gathered to help guide development of other (public) products but nothing specific. Basically what this tweet says
It's been released! They published a summary video and it's available to download here.
I just downloaded it and I've been tinkering in it a bit with Fuiro. I appreciate the ability to import SVPs since that's the majority of what I have XP I definitely need to take the time to read the manual after I get some sleep. In a way it kind of reminds me of Chipspeech/Alter Ego in that the real-time editing aspect is throwing me for a loop since I'm used to standard synth editors. I don't honestly see myself using a whole lot, but I'm looking forward to what other people might make with it.
I'll personally most likely be using it quite a bit since I use cubase and this feels very efficient workflow wise. It basically becomes the new Vocaloid for Cubase.
